Michael Brandstaetter - Conductor

As Deputy Principal Conductor at Munich's Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, I explore musical drama of many styles and genres. Together with a great team of artists, I am devoting my musical passion and energy to touching our audience with an intense combination of sound, poetry and drama.

Outside the world of opera I am focusing my artistic curiosity on symphonic music by living composers. I explore the world of contemporary orchestral music and immerse myself in the vast variety of musical languages.

To help young composers being heard, I have founded nomus21, an agency for new orchestral music based in Vienna. In addition I share my thoughts and a lot of orchestral music by living composers on my blog whyhatenewmusic.com

Have a look, listen closely and let me know, which music I should definitely not miss…
